Project proposals should be a maximum of two A4 sides describing the background, aims, methods (including timeline) and significance of the project, and should be submitted by 5pm on the closing date.
Key points to consider
- No additional funding from NZSSD is available for research costs.
- There will likely be a maximum of one studentship awarded per centre.
- Projects that can feasibly be completed within 7-10 weeks will be prioritised for funding.
- Projects will also be prioritised if they align with NZSSD's stated objectives of promoting the study of diabetes and the best standards of care of diabetes in New Zealand.
- The findings of each studentship are expected to be presented at a NZSSD Annual Scientific Meeting. Ideally, the presentations should be given by the student.
- Successful applicants will be notified by 22 September 2023.
- Successful applicants must notify the NZSSD executive by 13 October 2023 if they are unable to find an appropriate student. In this case, the studentship will be awarded to the next best application.
- Successful applicants must also re-submit for approval if there is any change in the student, supervisor or project topic before using the funds. In this case, the studentship may be re-awarded to the next best application.
